Summary
After Amber had collected more of her posessions from the shack she'd been living in Nanci gave Amber some of her old clothes, which were an improvement on what she currently had.
Nanci discussed Amber's situation and the fact Linda had been missing for over a week with Sheriff Bert Shoemaker. She learned there was no child services agency in Walke County and fostering was often an infomral arrangement when a family took a child in. Despite the problems with some in the churches Nanci agreed to look after Amber for the two weeks before school closed for the summer.
Nanci decided to give the Prairie Dawn a miss and went back to the parsonage to think and pray.
Sheriff Bert Shoemaker realised he had to wind out what he could about where Linda Wallace was.
At school, Amber told Keith to eat his lunch as she'd had a good breakfast and would probably stay with Nanci for another night. She asks Keith to thank his parents for letting her stay on Saturday.
