Summary
Encouraged by the Methodist minister and Donna Clark, Sheriff Anthony Herman decided to raid the West Turtle Lake Club. The raid was talked about by the Methodist minister so the Club was ready, including making the day "Clothing Required".
The sheriff had failed to get a warrant, and claimed no to need one when challenged by Justice James J. O’Connell of the State Supreme Court.
The county board of commissioners declined to pay for Anthony Herman's defence so he left town and Pat Berlin was appointed, and subsequently elected, sheriff until he retired.
