Summary
As Gil's tour at Fort Bragg and enlistment were coming to an end he only agreed to re-enlist for three years after he was promised a stabilised three-year tour in Germany. That tour and enlistment ended and the family, now of five children, returned to Spearfish Lake.
Carrie took a job as typesetter at the Spearfish Lake Record-Herald.
Watching the kids full time proved too much for Gil so Carrie encouraged him to buy the Spearfish Lake Appliance Store when it became available.
