Summary
Joyce Kirkendahl greets the Rileys on their return from Florida over part of the Christmas break. Shae had vacationed with them. Joyce has some guilt that the debt she thinks she owes to Arlene for years of babysitting is being paid by her daughter Shae, not her.
Mike announces at dinner that he won't be promoted into Bill Riley's position at General Hardware, instead he'll be transferred in six months or a year somewhere away from Bradford. Shae explains that she'll probably continue with her plans for either Ball State University or Dayton.
