Mr. LeDroit was Frenchy LeDroit's father. He worked as a machine operator at Clark Plywood.
He and his wife realisd they'd set a bad example with their drinking and had quit while Frenchy was in jail. They'd serched the house and got rid of all Frenchy's hidden beer and vodka. They visited Frenchy in jail once, around Christmas.OC3
He had a serious gambling addiction and went to the casino at Three Pines to play the slot machines every weekend, sure he'd win big sometime.OC19
When Frenchy was released from jail he was abusive to Frenchy and demanded fifty dollars a week room and board.OC3 Every Friday he demanded his money from Frenchy almost before he was in the door, and then demanded more knowing Frenchy was got more than fifty bucks for his week's work. He searched Frenchy's room for money while he was in the shower, and stole what he found, even a single dollar.OC9
Because his credit rating was so bad the bank and credit card company got their poayments out of his pay before he got his paycheck.OC19
When Frenchy moved out he abused him for stealing and took a swing at him, and later at Sergeant Fred PiwowarOC20 so got himslef in jail for four weeks for assaulting a police officer, and lost his job.OC21
When he got out of jail he went looking for Frenchy instead of starting his community service. After throwing a few punches, with Terry Porter as witness, he got knocked down by Frenchy and re-arrested by Fred Piwowar.OC21 He was sentenced to a year in prison.OC22
While he was in prison his wife lost the house, left town and filed for divorce, hoping he wouldn't be able to fine her when he got out.OC26
