Frank "Frenchy" LeDroit was resident of Spearfish Lake. In 2010 he was a football player at the Spearfish Lake High School.

His girlfriend was the cheerleader Mary Lou Kempa.

He liked to drink cheap beer, and beat up on anybody weaker.

One such victim, Alan Jahnke, retaliated (anonymously) by arranging for him to puncture (beyond repair) all four tires on his car.BITH11 and BITH12   Allan's parents facilitated his getting a Personal Protective Order (PPO) against Frenchy. Police Chief Charlie Wexler personally served the PPO.BITH37

In August 2010 Matthew Effingham, Larry Coopshaw and Frenchy were arrested after a investigation by Chief Wexler. Frenchy was arraigned before Judge Dieball on two separate charges. The first charge, assault, resulted in a sentence of 90 days in jail, then he mouthed off and got it doubled. The second charge, violating a PPO, added another 30 days for a total of 7 months. The sentence also included one year of probation, during which he would have to complete two hundred hours of community service.BITH45 and BOF2   The football season would be over before he got out of jail.BOF2

He is the subject of the book Out of the Cage which tells of his maturing from being a Billy Badass to a responsible and valued employee and boyfriend.
