Summary
Vicky and Jason climb into her Stratus for the ride to Virginia and a meet up with Duane. Emily and Kevin are also leaving on their bikes for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Vicky and Jason talk as they all head out of town, with the bikers heading west once they reach the Indiana Toll Road and a final shout of "Take plenty of pictures!"
The conversation in the car rambles a bit as there are sore topics each isn't eager to talk about. They discuss their night of lovemaking, which leads to Jason's time with Christine and that while she was never well, her bond with Jason and Duane was much deeper than what was displayed in public. Wednesday night had been his first sex since Christine's death.
When Jason deflected the topic back to Vicky, she confessed to Augie's final act that ended their marriage, sodomy and assault. She talked about how Emily rescued her and counseled her in filing for divorce, which was filed in Michigan despite her then running to Las Vegas to hide for a time. It was during her lonely time in Nevada that Vicky fell into drinking too often and was eventually arrested for DUI. That event shocked her into sobriety and inspired her to start pulling herself together. She thanks Jason for his stable presence for the past few years as providing just what she needed. Wednesday was also her first sex since Augie's assault.
