Summary
The founding of West Turtle Lake Club was the start of a perpetual war between Donna Clark and Garth Matson.
The effects in the community included people taking their banking to other towns and the Spearfish Lake State Savings Bank being very slow to clear those checks.
The Record-Herald managed not to use the word "nudist" in connection with the West Turtle Lake Club in thirty years.
Garth put pressure on the methodist church to get rid of a pastor who ranted against the West Turtle Lake Club.
Ursula Mandenberg Clark designed a new Methodist Church which opened in 1959.
