Summary
The adults talk, some reminiscing about classmates from Bradford, catching Mandy up on the weeks events for John and Sally. After Teresa went to bed the three adults spent time in the hot tub continuing their conversations.
John put things ready for Mandy to sleep on the sofa and she pushed to be allowed into his bed but he kept his resolve.
In bed alone John's mind kept wondering what Mandy was after and what she hadn't said about the past few days. Even though he would like to be settled, married with a family neither of the women in the house seemed like a good prospect; they both had a record of running away from difficulties.
