Summary
Candice is skipping the Iditarod this year, so Duane is making his rookie Iditarod run with Phil’s second team. Duane and Michelle are each behind dog teams that need both night-running training and cold weather acclimation. It's around two in the morning on a crisp, clear -30 F / -34 C January night.
After they finished the run they broke down the teams then picketed and fed them. Only then did they walk to the trailer, remove about 20 layers of clothes, have some hot cocoa and go to bed.

Duane and Michelle are not looking forward to spring since as soon as the post-race Musher’s Banquet ends they will have to rush down to Canyon Tours to get started on rigging rafts.
