Frank Oldfield is a bit of a sleazebag and is the president of Nashville-Murray, Jenny Easton's original recording production company.

Nashville-Murray owns the rights to much of Jenny's early work. By the time of the book Blue Beauty her contract with them has expired, to Nashville-Murray's dismay. Frank tries to get Jenny to re-sign with Nashville-Murray, but doesn't succeed. He wrongly believes that Blake is behind the decision to drop Nashville-Murray, so he tries several times to split Jenny and Blake up including one incident of starting rumors of Blake being gay.

When this last attempt fails he goes up to Spearfish Lake himself in June 2001, to try to talk to Jenny in person. He had arranged for a film crew from Hollywood Tonight to be there. This ploy also fails, and as he is leaving Spearfish Lake, he gets pulled over and arrested for DUIBB26. The judge sentences him to 60 days in Spearfish County Jail (his record shows two previous DUI convictions), but gives him 30 days to wind up his personal business before he reports to jailBB32.

Frank loses his job at Nashville-Murray because of the negative publicity generated by Annette Funston's "At Home with Jenny Easton" multi-part series in the Nashville Tennessean newspaper (generated by her 4-day live-in interview with Jennifer & Blake).BB29 - BB30 If Frank hadn't been in the Spearfish County Jail on 9/11 he'd have been in a meeting in the north tower when the World Trade Center in New York City is hit.BB32
