Bobby Lufkin was a resident of Spearfish Lake. His father was Jack Lufkin but his mother, Rachel, died young. His younger sister was Janice.
Bobby was known for causing trouble at school. An example shows in an exchange Nicole Clark had with her husband Randy in 2001:
- "I had to send Bobby Lufkin to detention again for talking back. Unless someone kicks the crap out of him and it gets replaced with some sense, there's no way he's going to come to a good end."
- "Would you like me to talk to him sometime?" Randy asked. "Maybe I can goad him into taking a swing at me, and I could break a few bones."
- "No, it's more trouble than it's worth," Nicole sighed. "He's just a pain in the rear, and there's always one like him in any class, it seems. But sometimes it makes me wonder why I ever wanted to be a teacher."PE10
With three of his buddies Bobby raped the fifteen year old Monica Laughton in September 2003. She never knew which of the four was the father of her daughteer Cindy.OC13
Bobby did not graduate. "One of the few pieces of information about Spearfish Lake High School that had made it across the Atlantic to Germany in the last year was that Bobby had been kicked out of school, mostly for excessive bullying." He had a reputation for being the main drug dealer in Spearfish Lake in August 2004.SU12
In December 2007 he and his father were discovered raping his younger sister. Cody Archer shot and killed them both in self defense.SK1 The fallout of that incident is the entire storyline of the book Stray Kitten.
