Windmill Island was a small, rocky island, half an acre or maybe a little more, at most three quarters, in the middle of Chandler Lake.HC17
David and Stacy Newton offered a million and a half for the islandHC17 and bought it at the Clark Plywood counter offer of two-and-a-half million to build their dream home - an English windmill. Previously unnamed, the island became known as Windmill Island.HC18
The building of the Newton's windmill is a significant thread in Hannegan's Cove .
Susan Langenderfer-McMahon accompanied Randy Clark early one morning to photograph a hot air balloon used as a crane to lift windmill sails in to place.
