Vanessa Sprow is the daughter of Glenn Sprow, a former football player in Spearfish Lake and kayaking customer of Josh Archer and Spearfish Lake Outfitters.
In the fall of 2000, Vanessa was a sophomore at Spearfish Lake High School and member of the Marlin Seven basketball team, coached by Brandy Evachevski. She was easily recognized as Glenn's daughter. While he was 300 pounds, she was tall and "built like a truck. Not fat, just big and muscular; she almost looked like she ought to be on the football team."FtS37 She could get physical and when the Warsaw team tripped Tabitha Augsberg, she exacted revenge while making it look like an accident, as likely taught to her by her father.
It is possible Vanessa has an older sister, Amanda Sprow that in 1997 was a witness of the Jason Bailey fight. She was likely a friend of Cindy deLine and Henry McMahon. She would be about 3 years older than Vanessa.
