One great job! Had to do some research to figure out how some of the templates work - really neat stuff!

I haven't yet discovered if you have left an explanation of how everything works somewhere, but it would really be neat if you did.

If nothing else, a short tutorial on what has to be done to set up a new book.

Wes Photos

Any ideas on how to have the captions show up better. The red text is sometimes hard to see against the dark background and appears way off the image. Can the text block be wider? just below the image?

I noticed that! They were white by default, but that didn't work well with some backgrounds. I thought dark red would be better, but well, no. I thought of a wider box too. I need to play with it, I guess -- maybe this weekend. The problem is Wes keeps replacing the captions on his web page, so unless they are captured somewhere, I don't know how to restore the old captions. The images themselves are easy enough -- they have a fixed name with increasing numeric part.--Samuelmichaels (talk) 10:36, 27 September 2014 (EDT)

Please delete the page John Sanuders - it was a typo for John Saunders and is now an orphaned page with nothing linking to it. The correct spelling page has the information and all the links. User:Ajh 10 December 2019

Property:Biological Mother

I have attempted to list Jody MacRae as Duane MacRae's biological_mother but it isn't showing in the infobox about Duane in the way biological_father does for Crystal Chladek. I have also created a page for Property:Biological mother by copying and modifying from Property:Biological father. This page is not listing the Duane MacRae Jody MacRae link the way the Property:Biological father page lists the pairs. Your announcement of May 2015 on the Spearfish_Lake_Tales_Wiki:Community_Portal page led me to expect biological_mother to work the same way as biological_father. Have I missed something? I looked at it, and the difference was capitalization in the Template:Character. The template parameters are apparently case sensitive. Anyway, it seems to work now.--Samuelmichaels (talk) 02:36, 6 March 2020 (UTC)

Book pages not listing all chapter pages

I have seen this on a number of book pages but thought it was because the chapter pages are stubs, e.g http://spearfishlaketaleswiki.com/wiki/Hearts_of_Gold (I am working on pages for this book and expect to upload the set in the next week or so).

For example when looking at http://spearfishlaketaleswiki.com/wiki/Circuit_Rider (Firefox 75.0 on Windows 10) chapters 1, 6, 7, 10, 12, 13, 14, 17, 19, 24 were missing from the list. When populating these pages I worked offline and copied the same tempplate for all chapters. Once they were ready I copied and pasted the contents. I cannot spot a difference causing the omissions.

I have found that refreshing the individual chapter pages (and perhaps the book page) gets them listed correctly, so have corrected all for Circuit Rider. Am I doing something wrong when uploading pages, or do I simply need to save then refresh the pages as I go? Anthony User:Ajh Monday 4 May 2020

No you are not doing anything wrong. The package that displays chapters is called Semantic MediaWiki; and it doesn't automatically refresh all the pages -- I usually find that I need to edit (without actually changing anything) and save a page to force recalculation.--Samuelmichaels (talk) 21:03, 6 May 2020 (UTC)

Multiple chapters posted as one

User:Jiml has pointed out that the infobox on even numbered chapter pages for The West Turtle Lake Club and Slippery Slopes point to pages which do not exist on spearfishlaketales.com because those chapters are posted in the same file as the previous. Does the chapter template include a "link =" parameter? User:Ajh 10 March 2021
