Joe and Mignon have been friends with their backyard neighbor Jason MacRae since high school, although Jason was a grade behind Mignon. Jason and Mignon dated for a while, a couple years before she married Joe, and had a memorable night together at a drive-in.HS7 Jason believes there was no way he could have made it through the last years with Christine without their help and his son Duane was good friends with Troy.
