Dorothy Horned Owl was an older katara (wise woman, shaman) of the Shakahatche Indians.
In Chapter 37 of the book Square One she along with Ellen Standing Bear, Ruth Standing Bear (Ellen's older sister), and Sarah Red Fox guided Debbie Elkstalker towards a vision quest.
Later on she was involved in Debbie's and Danny Evachevski's commitment ceremony.SQ50
