Summary
When Mike Baker, their most experienced supervisor, has a heart attack, the Clarks are short of someone to put in charge of a large project on the Three Pines Reservation. Randy wants to use Rod Turpin, who refuses because he can't read, a fact that he's managed to keep secret from everyone including his wife.
Randy takes Rod to Linda Clark, who has been teaching adults to read ever since Randy can remember. Randy agrees with Rod that he'll help Rod with the paperwork involved with the reservation project whilst Rod learns to read.
Randy helps Nicole move out of her college room as she finally graduates from Weatherford College.
