David Harbaugh was a local actor, from near Centerton^CCT33, who was given the male "berry picker" role in The Hermit of Walden and "the role in Ballad opposite Kellye mostly because he had a beard that would fit the period". ^CCT18

He also had roles in The Odd Couple, The Back Table^CCT32 and played Gregor, the evangelist, in Saving Grace. He did a good job despite being relatively inexperienced.^CCT33

During the rehearsals of The Odd Couple he started getting friendly with Lu Ty and it looked like it might develop into a serious romance.^CCT33
