Summary
Driving home from Elmer Pepper's funeral Nanci thought about Art's suggestion that she needed a pickup or SUV and realised he was right.
While Nanci was changing Amber answered the phone in a very business-like manner giving Karin the impression of a church secretary. The phone call was mostly catching up though Nanci did ask Al to look out for an American pickup or SUV she could buy to avoid destroying her Camry.
Nanci's conversation with Amber made her realise that Amber had a lot of shame and self-doubt due to her mother and the way they had lived. Nanci knew it would be a slow process to build-up Amber's self-confidence.
