Summary
On their first night driving south, they review an offer that they have received back from the National Park Service to be a campground host at Cedar Breaks in western Utah. They think the fifteen weeks still allows some of the summer to "screw around out west and see some of the other sights".
Continuing the next day, they decide to go to Wamputa Beach, thinking Bonnie probably went there. Bill and Bonnie aren't answering phones or e-mail.
The campground is busier now than before and they find Bonnie sitting behind the desk in the lounge. "You're late. I expected you last week."
Both sides are brought up to date on the past month and make plans for the next drive north when Catalina expects to return for the auction.
Catalina confesses she has been thinking how long she's been with Roger already and how different staying with him is. Both admit to being nervous, but can see it lasting. They talk about marriage, but mostly about the financial side, such as his pension and Social Security. The conversation has Catalina being quiet for a long part of the drive back to Pass Christian. When she finally speaks, it's to say she's not ready to get married and to see if she feels different in a few months. Roger next admits to thinking about selling his home in Wychbold and buying a bigger, newer motor home.
