Beffy was a gray and black striped tiger kitten, with white boots on its paws and a white chest. About six or eight weeks old when Amanda Lewis rescued her from the water when an alligator was after her.^RD9

As she was going to be a boat cat on the Rag Doll Amanda named the cat Beffy, after one of her favorite childhood dolls.^RD10

She proved to be a good boat cat and companion for Amanda when she got lonely.^RD34
