Summary
A month later, Pat gets a phone call. Cindy is excited to announce her pregnancy. She invites him up to celebrate. Pat grew up without any close friends and Russ and Cindy had quickly become his best friends. Pat eventually spends Thanksgiving and Christmas with them and the Bradstreets occasionally drive down to visit him, visiting the Fort Knox Armor Museum and later Mammoth Cave. Pat even spends a weekend helping Russ paint and prepare the nursery.
In the middle of July, Pat is called to hurry for the birth. He arrives in time to participate in Cindy's delivery. Pat is also satisfied that he has helped his friends heal.
