Summary
Cindy wants another child and the three schedule a Florida vacation together in March, all having a great time together and not just in bed. Pat's proximity and his training schedule allow of them to continue to get together almost monthly. It took four months of visits before Cindy and Russ call to announce her pregnancy and in March 2001, their son is born. With the good news comes a bit of bad as Patrick is being moved to Texas.
After September 11th, Patrick knew things would change even more. After relaxing with the Bradstreets over the holidays, he discovers he's being deployed to Kuwait for six months. After that assignment he ends up in Georgia with a promotion to Sergeant First Class. With the paperwork, he changes his home address from "none" to the Bradstreets' and names his children as beneficiaries. Soon enough, he's a platoon sergeant in Iraq. By January 2005, Patrick is assigned to an office on brigade operations staff. Three months later, while in a military convoy, his Humvee is hit by an IED.
