Summary

Ralph Brunswick agreed to take Sally's claim against the trucking company on a contingency fee of twenty percent. They discussed what the claim should cover: hospital fees, car replacement, pain and suffering for Teresa, cost of accommodation that John was providing. He said it might take as long as ninety days to get sorted out.

When they left the lawyer's office John spotted a used book store and asked the clerk to find a number of books by the authors Teresa had mentioned. While waiting he phoned Annamaria and found she was sorting out problems for him. He needed to call in to the police station to sign the complaint against Warren's wife, Martha, and the insurance agent to sort out a hire car. She suggested Manatee Alternative School as they might not worry about records from a previous school and they had a home-schooling arrangement for kids who are homebound. John and Sally went there next and set things in progress for a home visit to assess Teresa the next day.

When they got home they found Mandy and Carlos on the computer while Teresa talked with Carlos' sister, Josie. They gave Teresa the bags of books which really cheered her up.

Annamaria phoned asking if Sally would work four hours each Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening cleaning offices. Sally agreed to do it starting that night.
