There are no dates in the text. What evidence do we have that it begins in December 2007? Cody's age? The article on Cody Archer says he was born in 1991, so he would be 17 in December 2008. Looking at Facing the Storm, it seems to be implied that he's about eight in December 1999; it's stated that he's two years younger than Shay, and Shay is in fifth grade, so Cody's probably in third grade, thus about eight. But I can't find any direct statement of his or Shay's age in Facing the Storm.

Also, Hiding Patty is supposed to take place less than a year later (Binky mentions the meth lab bust and shooting) but other evidence suggests it begins in 2009.
