Fantasy Authors

This is most likely a coincidence. Still:

  • February 2000: Wendy Carter was deep in writing a complicated fantasy novel.RR35
  • September 2001: Dunlap and Fyre bought last spring ... a big complicated fantasy: Swordsman of Atlantis being the first book by Larissa Hamilton.PUTP14

I think Wendy wrote a non-fiction book earlier, but if she used a pseudonym, the fantasy would have appeared her first.

I forgot to sign, and that I obviously saw Dang Fool's earlier comment in updating Wendy's page.--Samuelmichaels 22:23, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

It's obviously the reason I was investigating...

  • August 2001: The novel is "in press"

"One day, she'd casually agreed to accompany Jennifer "over to Wendy's for the mail run." [...] She'd been utterly surprised to discover that the cheerful, businesslike girl that she'd talked to on the phone several times to make arrangements was a quadriplegic! And, quite a bright and talented one, too, with a nonfiction book -- about Brenda, of all people! -- in print and a fantasy novel "in press.""BB30

"In press" sounds like it has been sent to the printers. Obviously it's been purchased, but perhaps she hasn't seen galley proofs?

FYI: In Press: Publication still being printed, and not yet available for sale or distribution (according to BusinessDictionary.com)--Samuelmichaels 04:49, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
