Bulldog Spirit has Cam Patterson starting college in August 2013.
Cam was born in December 1996 and was in kindergarten in September 2001, age four.PUTP3 With a normal progression from kindergaten, he would be sixteen and starting 12th Grade in August 2013, so would start college in August 2014. There is no suggestion that Cam and Ty graduated high school a year ahead of normal.
In chapter 6 Cam says his half-sister Lauren is twelve, though she was born in late September or early October 2002,PUTP34 so was ten going on eleven in August 2013. Presumably Janelle's age was similarly out as the age mentioned puts her a couple of years younger than Lauren. He also said he 'was barely five at the time of the attack on the World Trade Center, though he was three months shy of five at the time.
August 2013 ties in with Howie Erikson from Bird on the Field and Reaching for Wings starting college, and with Lyle Angarrack and Ashley Keilhorn from Bird on the Field being Juniors.
I suspect that Wes might have decided to ignore the discrepancy because the story required the August 2013 date.
