Summary
Susan engages in some small talk on her flight home from Germany with the teacher seated next to her. she explains her knack for languages while internal dialog explains how much she will miss her friends and how much closer she felt with them than her own much older siblings.
Mike and Kirsten meet their daughter and Susan mentally compares them to her host parents. She is not thrilled with a planned welcome home party, but resigned. Past clashes between the two hardheaded women are hinted at. When Mike pulls up with Kirsten's new car, Susan is quick to tease, but is also quick to turn around when it is revealed that she's getting a car!
