Summary
From the evacuation center at Trinity Church, a devastated Dave Patterson and his two sons are rescued by his old classmates Shae and Eve. Shae is memorable, but there is no recognition seeing Eve. The boys recognize Shae from her Children's TV show. The group walks across the Brooklyn Bridge and rides a subway to Brooklyn, where Shae works. Here they take her car to her home on Staten Island.
The boys fall asleep quickly, exhausted by the long day. Dave makes phone calls to first his mom, who is very supportive, and then to Julie's parents, who are still in shock at losing their only child. Luckily Eve is quick to help console them.
Dave expresses himself unsure that he can sleep, but Eve's soft monotone soon puts him under.
