Summary
Marlin & Jackpine are at the Katahdin Stream campsite by Katahdin Mountain, wondering what to do when Randy turns up in a hired Jaguar. They are to drive to the airport at Boston and take flights home from there, but the schedule is tight.
Randy is in a rush as he has a message for Nicole from Harold Hekkinan, the high school principal, who wants her to ring him as soon as possible. It turns out that the teacher Nicole had covered for earlier (Mrs Gleason) had decided to retire on health grounds, and Harold needed to replace her, and the candidates he'd interviewed had decided to go elsewhere. Nicole accepts the job.
Randy & Nicole are bumped on their flight, so they have some time to talk about Nicole's trip whilst they are waiting. Randy shows Nicole a couple of photos of Crystal from the Grand Canyon, one showing her boss, Al with the message I really love my boss. Once she sees them, they are mailed to Karin. Nicole tells Randy that it is time he went to see Crystal to withdraw his standing offer of marriage.
