Summary
Mike reads the Defenders of Gaea letter and realises that although they are probably getting their money from Jenny, they are not the big organisation they pretend to be.
In order to warn Jenny of the trouble that Heather has caused, Mike decides to write a story about the lawsuit, and starts doing some research on the Defenders. He contacts the Camden Better Business Bureau to find that they consider the Defenders are at best a marginal organisation, and the California Attorney General's office thinks the same.
Mark rings to tell him that his way home is clear of snow, then Mike calls Kirsten to tell her that that he'll be a little late.
Mike takes advantage of the time zones and rings Andy Bairnsfether at work in Los Angeles. He's a former Record-Herald reporter, now in the investigative group at the Los Angeles Times newspaper, and he shares a a few interesting tidbits of information about the Defenders organization with Mike.
