Summary
The second day Mary and Matt were in Blanche Tickle, Evan delivered a load of firewood, which they worked together to stack, and the propane tank was filled.
A couple of days later they made a run to St John's to stock up and collect Mary's posessions from Widow O’Kelly.
They passed their time with chores around the house, walking to the post oiffice and store to exercise and socialise, and reading. Matt realised he knew more people in Blanche Tickle than he did at home in Detroit.
When Matt tried the laptop he was surprised to get a wireless internet connection. He used that to teach Mary a bit about the computer, to investigate possibilities for next summer's cruising and order relevant books.
On Christmas Eve mummers came knocking and were given refreshment. Matt and Mary joined one group for a while, and welcomed other groups to the house.
There was snow in early January, Matt and Mary spent some time shovelling to keep their track clear and were warming up afterwards when a knock at their door revealed a surprise visitor - Adam Caldwell.
