T.J. Wireman put Ted into Ron Keyser's car after a crash and he got more out of it than the Keyser had. It also got Ted a drive with Wireman's team and sponsorship for the rest of the CART season.^BR3-32

After tuniing the car for the Bradford track Ted drove the all-time Bradford track at 11.87 the week after the Indy 500 before continuing the CART season.^BR3-34

Ted won his first CART series victory at Burke Lakefront Airport in Cleveland.^BR3-36
