Pat Roberts is an attorney in Spearfish Lake. He first appears in the last three chapters of the book "Hannegan's Cove" where he acts as the defense attorney for Joel Lancaster (Rachel Clark's then estranged and later ex-husband), both in his criminal and divorce cases.

Pat handled Joel's case since Matt Schindenwulfe was the Clark family attorney, and at that time was handling the estate of Brent Clark and the divorce of Rachel Clark.

On Sunday August 7, 2010 Pat was kept busy advising teenagers who had been arrested at the football team's pre-practice beer party. He advised George Battle that his daughter Shelly should plead guilty, which advice George rejected.^BOF22 He advised Eddie Awkerman and Scotty Parsons to plead not guilty initially so that they could get into a plea bargain with the prosecutor.^BOF26
