Summary
Will saw Telzey at lunch and talked about riding again. Between classes WIll thanked Kayla for telling him to speak to Telzey.
After school Will showed Telzey the kart he'd learned on and said she'd use it before driving the ATV fast.
Ray Austin came out to watch the two driving and teach Telzey. Back at the house the kids washed the kart and ATV and gassed them up before putting them away.
Over dinner Telzey learned that the Austins were not only short track racers but they had their own track. She agreed to spend Saturday with Will working on his Pony Stock car.
Telzey was distracted by thoughts of her parents when the war in Iraq started. Kayla Holst encouraged her to get out with Will instead of spending all her time in front of the TV worrying.
Will sat behind Telzey, holding her, while he taught her to drive the ATV.
