Erika Mowrer was a swamper on Duane MacRae's Gold Team for Canyon Tours for the 2004 rafting season after her freshman year at Northern Arizona University.

She acted somewhat ethereal as befitted someone from Sedona, AZ which had a New Age reputation.^INTA7

She and Terry Dolcett seemed to be sniffing around each other a little from the first trip, and she took him home when they had a break.^INTA18

During the last trip before returning to college Erika and Terry talked about travel between Phoenix and LA to maintain their friendship. The Trimester system at Black Mesa College would allow her to miss one trimester and continue rafting until the end of the season if she could be a boatman instead fo a swamper.^INTA25

Over the winter she and Terry fell out so it was good they were on different teams the following year.^INTA27
