Summary

Adam and Carolyn returned to Frenchtown Harbor on the Knick-Knack and went their separate ways.

Back at Caldwell-Deerfield Adam discussed the planned management changes, including how Marcia would fit into the new structure, with Bob and Fred.

Adam had a meeting with Deke Hampton about the upcoming probate of Samuel's estate, including how to handle Mary's legacy and getting her to sign some documents. Adam agreed that he'd like to visit again but couldn't afford the time to make it by road in July or August.

Adam phoned Dr Preble to see what he thought about Brittany meeting Mary and Matty. While careful to maintain patient confidentiality, Dr Preble said that In six monthe or a year it might be a better idea. Adam would pass that opinion on to Mary.

Adam still had a big collection of his father’s personal papers to go through and hoped to get through it by the time the estate sale happened in September.

The following Saturday he took Beverly sailing, she was late arriving again. By the end of the day he knew she wasn't on his prospect list for the longer-term.

A week later he again took Carolyn Lewis sailing for a couple of days and they further planned their trip to Georgian Bay. Adam said he would have a business trip of a week or so before then.

The probate hearing proved to be the rubber stamp that Deke Hampton had predicted. The management restructure at Caldwell-Deerfield was completed and Adam told Bob, Fred and Marcia that the company was theirs to run and he'd be away a fair bit.
