Diane Ziegler was a teenager who liked to hang round the Bradford Speedway. She did various jobs including running the back gate, working in the concession stand, and all sorts of other little jobs, sometimes just for the price of admission.BR2-23
She was running the back gate when Mel and Arlene Austin checked out the Junior Stock class.BR2-8
When Mel bought the track and was planning to re-open it Diane offered to run the concession stand. Her husband, Zack, helped organise some volunteer help and took control of building a new concession stand the weekend the Mel started preparing the Bradford Speedway to be re-opened. She also had some hot refreshments available for ther volunteers.BR2-23
Diane's first child was born soon after Mel bought the track and before the work bee to get the track set up.
Diane provided a lot of information on how things had been done at the track which helped Mel work out how he wanted to do things.
Diane and Zack continued to help when Mel sold the old track and set up a new track on his land as a replacement.
