Bishop Ennis was the Bishop of the Rocky Mountain Conference of the Methodist Church. Her office was in Denver.

Through the bishop of the Desert Southwest Conference, Bishop Ennis asked Reverend Nanci Chladek to take over as pastor of two tiny little churches that are pretty close to being in the middle of nowhere - the Conestoga Methodist Church and the Tyler United Methodist Church.^CR4

Bishop Ennis had tried to get both recent pastors, Craig Howell and Darius Anders to encourage the Conestoga and Tyler churches to merge.^CR1 Nanci Chladek came to realise this would not be for the best^CR18 and didn't mention it to either congregation.
