Vietnam is on the Indochina peninsula and features in the Spearfish Lake Tales universe due to the US involvement in the Vietnam War. The US first sent advisers in the 1950s but heavy involvement ran from 1964 until 1973.
Several characters were born or died there including:
- Born: Binky Augsberg, Joy Russell
- Died: Dave Hoffman, Henry Toivo
There are several US Veterans among the characters. This is most notable in the book Absent Friend.
