Stas was Jack Erikson's dog.

In 2010 he was Jack's oldest, and for practical purposes his best friend.

Stas was a Siberian Husky, with typical gray and white markings, ice-blue eyes, permanently curled tail, and inability to give a true bark, but with short and thin hair. This meant Stas didn't tolerate cold weather and became a mostly indoor dog in winter.

Thus, Stas was booted out of sled dog racing kennel when still a puppy. Stas was small for a Husky, about forty pounds, but very intelligent and trainable.^BITH1
