Marlin Computer is the business set up by Mark Gravengood when he leaves the telephone company in May 1990AF34. Mark had been tinkering with computers since the Apple II and the Altair 8080, and when the time came to leave the telephone company he turned his hobby into his job. The Marlin Computer shop had been a pizza parlor before Mark moved in.

Mark not only had the Marlin Computes business that sold and repaired computers, he had also set up the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the Spearfish Lake, Albany River and Warsaw area in the early 1990s. Despite the fact that it shared the Marlin Computers building he made it a separate corporation, just in case...

Among others, it held the DNS entry for marlin.com.

By 2007, Marlin.com was the main ISP for an eight-county service area, offering dialup service, along with DSL where the local phone lines and phone company permitted, and Mark has received an offer to purchase the ISP business.SL1
