Jack Kaufmann was a racer in the Pony Stock class at Bradford Speedway. He had completed his freshman year at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo where he stayed in a dorm. It was close enough to Bradford that he could get home weekends to race in the spring and fall.
He was in contention for the season championship of 2003 when his 25 car was badly damaged.
Jack got along well with Susan Griffin and suggesetd she transfer from Michigan Tech to Western Michigan.
