Is Crystal now a Whittaker? Or did she keep her maiden name?--Samuelmichaels 01:32, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

My view is that she keeps her maiden name and if in a later story she is referred to as 'Whittaker', then 'Crystal Whittaker' is redirected to 'Chladek, Crystal'. Reasoning? For so many stories Chladek has been an important part of her character! --SPLTWikiSysop 12:31, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

I can't remember if it was in River Rat or an upcoming book where she talks about wanting to change her name to Buck, but that was before she got involved with Preach. She's very glad to be shed of the Chladek name, since no one can pronounce it or spell it without prompting -- and the father issue, of course. However in this case I think it's important to leave the Chladek last name linkable. -- Wes

Keeping it linkable is not a problem -- it would be a redirection in any case. I was wondering if we should create a (redirect) page for 'Whittaker, Crystal' now, or, as Michael suggests, wait until someone, perhaps even Crystal herself, refers to her as Crystal Whittaker. I am thinking we should do it, since even if she (or Wes) hasn't gotten around to her documented name, other characters who know her to be married may well consider her Mrs. Whittaker, by default.--Samuelmichaels 15:39, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

I made a page Crystal Whittaker as a redirect to the previously existing Crystal Chladek. Unless Wes says otherwise, I think I will refer to her as Crystal Whittaker post-marriage.--Samuelmichaels 01:01, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
