Summary
Flying to the Springfield Amateur Telescope Maker’s Convention, better known as Stellafane, Jackie and Mark contrast this visit to the Texas Star Party just four months earlier.
Mark succumbs to a purchase of a porthole glass blank to make a big mirror for a Dobsonian telescope.
Because of the cold at night, they start making plans for the winter with Jackie not interested in returning to Spearfish Lake quite yet.
They manage a visit to Walden Pond, although things have changed greatly since Thoreau's time. Jackie adds a Spearfish Lake rock to the pile. while sitting under a tree there, they talk about returning to Spearfish Lake, getting married, and where to go for the winter.
