Summary
Leaving Everglades City, Florida, they flew to Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Saint Augustine, ending up spending two nights at Cedar Key, including a stop at the Naval Air Museum in Pensacola.
Mark had been teaching Jackie how to fly, and by then she was learning fast. After Cedar Key, they head on and manage to get trapped by a big thunderstorm, not knowing exactly where they were. Jackie spots a small private airstrip, and Mark quickly lands and they secure the airplane. There was a lull in the storm, but then they saw a huge funnel cloud heading their way; they quickly took refuge behind a concrete block barbecue pit.
They survived the tornado, but there are two large holes in Rocinante's wings (each penetrating both the top and the bottom surface of the wing), and the airstrip is covered with debris. They realize that they are stuck there until they can repair the wings and clear the runway.
