Bob Linder is the grandfather of Fred Linder. After WWII Bob loaned some dogs to Jim Horton so he could check his trap lines during the winter. When Mike McMahon and Mark Gravengood got interested in dog sleds, they consulted with Jim Horton who passed on the knowledge he had gained years before.^{BAR732 BAR11}
