Bill Shepler is the real-life president of Shepler's Ferry. He is the second generation of boat captains running tourists to and from Mackinac Island and his four children are fully involved in carrying on the business.

He appears in Hat Trick when Dayna Berkshire and Sandy Beach busk in Mackinaw City. In the SLT universe he's also Mayor of the town and encouraged the girls as good for the entertainment of the tourists.
