Hawthorne

Hawthorne is the nearest big town to Bradford in Michigan, about twenty miles away, although still near the state line to Indiana. It is also the county seat. ^{HT02 CAT12}

Hawthorne is the home of Briarwood Mall and a wider choice in shopping than Bradford, including a WalMart^HT09 The Brass Lantern is supposed to be the best restaurant in the town.^GM2

There is the Hawthorne Airport, the closest airport to Bradford and one used by Jennlynn Swift on occasion.^MC26 However it is small and people still drove to the Detroit Metro Airport for major commercial flights.^HT15

At least one member of Bradford's Class of 1988, Diane Gritzmaker, lived in Hawthorne.^HT24
